This new cooking trend has taken the internet by storm and all vegans by delight! People are turning slivers of carrots into deliciously flavoured crispy bacon. And at DNA Health it’s super easy with the DNA Airfryer Oven! This easy, crispy, salty carrot bacon is easy and can be made using ingredients you probably have in your fridge.
Everyone loves bacon, but carrots are way better for you! So why not turn thin slices of carrots into bacon? Your guests won’t even know the difference. So let’s get cooking and join the trend in turning carrots into bacon!
Depending on your preference you could change up the suggested ingredients and instructions. For example, if you prefer your bacon extra crispy we would recommend a longer cooking time. Also if you prefer a saltier taste then substitute your Tamari for soy sauce.
Ingredients:
- 3 tablespoons Tamari (or soy sauce)
- 2 tablespoons Olive Oil
- ½ tablespoon Maple Syrup
- 1 tablespoon Tahini
- ¼ teaspoon Paprika
- ½ tablespoon Garlic Powder
- Carrot Slices
Instructions:
- Add all your ingredients (except your carrot slices) in a mixing bowl. Mix together well.
- Use a vegetable peeler, and peel the carrot from end to end, to create bacon-like strips.
- Add the strips to the bowl and let sit for 15 minutes.
- Line your carrot strips onto your two mesh baskets and place them into your DNA Airfryer Oven.
- In batches cook at 180°C for 10 mins or on our pizza preset.
